Base64 Encode / Decode
Encode text to Base64 or decode Base64 back to text. Works correctly with UTF-8 (accents, CJK, emoji) and supports the URL-safe Base64URL format used in JWTs.

What is Base64?
Base64 represents data using only 64 characters: A–Z, a–z, 0–9, + and /. It's used to carry data through text-only channels like email attachments, JWT tokens and data URLs. It is not encryption; anyone can decode it.
How to use it
Choose Encode or Decode and type in the box. The result updates instantly. 'Use result as input' flips the direction so you can verify a round trip. Base64URL strings with - and _ decode automatically.
FAQ
Why is my result different from another site?+
This tool encodes text as UTF-8 bytes first. Sites that use a legacy encoding like Latin-1 produce different output for non-ASCII characters.
Is Base64 secure?+
No. It's a reversible encoding, not encryption. Never use it to hide passwords or personal data.
