How to use it
Paste the original on the left and the changed version on the right. The result updates as you type: removed lines are red, added lines are green, and inside a changed line the exact words or characters that differ get a darker highlight, so even a single comma or digit stands out.
Use the [⇄] button to swap the two sides. Choose between side-by-side view and a single inline column, whichever is easier to read.
Comparison options
Compare by word (the default for English) or by character. Turn on 'Ignore whitespace' to treat spacing and indentation changes as equal, and 'Ignore case' to skip uppercase/lowercase differences.
For long texts, turn on 'Show only changes'. Unchanged stretches collapse into 'N identical lines' with 3 lines of context around each change, so you can jump straight to what was edited.
Safe for contracts and confidential files
The diff is computed entirely in your browser and nothing you paste is sent to a server. That makes it safe for contracts, HR documents and internal reports. Both inputs are saved under 'Recent' in this browser only, so you can reload them with one click or clear them anytime.
FAQ
Can I quickly check whether two texts are identical?+
Yes. The summary at the top shows how many lines were added and removed, and if the texts match exactly it tells you they are identical.
How do I share the changes with someone?+
Click 'Copy changes'. The differences are copied as plain text with '-' in front of removed lines and '+' in front of added lines, ready to paste into a chat, email or code review comment.
Only the spacing is different, but everything shows as changed.+
Turn on 'Ignore whitespace'. Differences in spaces and indentation will be ignored. Add 'Ignore case' if you also want to ignore uppercase/lowercase changes.
Is my text stored or uploaded?+
No. The comparison runs only in your browser. The 'Recent' history stays in this browser's local storage and can be cleared with one click.
