What is kaomoji?
Kaomoji (顔文字, "face characters") are Japanese-style emoticons built from brackets and symbols. Unlike emoji they're plain text, so they work anywhere emoji don't: game chat, usernames and old forums.
How to use it
Pick a mood at the top to filter, then tap any kaomoji to copy it. Everything you copy is saved to 'Recent' so you can grab it again without searching.
FAQ
Part of a kaomoji looks broken.+
Many kaomoji mix Japanese, Thai and other symbols. If a device lacks those fonts, some parts show as boxes (□). Most modern phones and computers display them fine.
What's the difference between emoji and kaomoji?+
An emoji is a single picture character that looks different on each platform. Kaomoji are made of several text characters, so they look similar everywhere and work where emoji are blocked.
